What's OPEN on Columbus Day? Your guide to wineries, breweries, cideries open on October 10, 2022

Are you in the area and wondering what's open on Columbus Day 2022? This is one of the most beautiful Autumn weekends of the year and one of the prettiest leaf peeping seasons I've seen in the past 6 years since I started coming here. It's also harvest season, which means the wineries have a large staff and they're pretty busy, but it's a great time of year to ask questions - those working likely really know what they're talking about.

It's important to check who is open before heading out - a lot of wineries are going to start shutting down later this month or next month. And those who are open may limit their hours. I use Google to check hours, but they're not always accurate on holidays. I'll indicate below if I actually called them, but for many of them, I'm going based on their Google availability or what I see them posting on Facebook.

Here's a non-exhaustive list! Remember to make a reservation, especially if you have more than 6 or 8 people in your party.

Cayuga Lake Wine Trail

You can make a reservation online! They told me with 2 people I should be ok walking in, but it's easy to make an online reservation regardless.

When I called they said they require a reservation if you have 8 people or more (and must be planned a week in advance). I love their cider selection here, and if you're looking for non-alcoholic options, their shrubs are incredible (I think they make these with alcohol too).

I called and they said they're open Monday with their normal hours!

Open every day 11-5:30pm based on Google Maps

Open every day 10-5:30pm based on Google Maps. Their bistro is also open on Mondays! They do not take reservations for tastings - walk-in only (max 10 ppl). I love the wines here.

Open every day 11-5pm based on Google Maps. This is where we get our wine for Mill Creek Cabins and New Park Event Venue & Suites.

We are talking about the Ithaca location here - the North Shore location is closed on Mondays. Note the hours though! The Ithaca location is open 3pm to 9pm on Mondays

Seneca Lake Wine Trail

Lists on Google Maps that they'll have holiday hours; typically open every day

Open every day 11-5pm with no indication that it will be closed on Columbus day. I love the Riesling here.

Open every day Noon-6pm

Open every day 10am-5pm

Open every day 10am-6pm. I'm obsessed with their reds.

Normally Wednesdays are their days to close, so they're open on Mondays anyway. This is an awesome place to get something to eat, and it's dog-friendly!
